V MEETING OF THE CLUB OF HEADS OF TRADE-ECONOMIC MISSIONS (EMBASSY DEPARTMENTS) OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES, ACCREDITED IN MOSCOW
The fifth meeting of the Club, will be held as part of the 27th international exhibition “MedTravelExpo – 2017” at the Expocentere, was devoted to medical tourism.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Komi Republic – permanent representative of the Komi Republic to the President of the Russian Federation, Vice-President of the Club Grigory Sarishvili and First Deputy General Director of Expocentre addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
The meeting was attended by trade councelors from 34 countries, representatives of federal and regional executive and legislative authorities of the Russian Federation, as well as companies specializing in medical tourism.
Trade councelors of the Gabonese Republic, Hungary, the Slovak Republic and the Swiss Confederation has made presentations about the development of medical tourism in their countries.
Russian companies shared their experience in providing services in this area. Dmitry Shatokhin, a member of the Committee on the Budget and Financial Markets of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, spoke with the Association of Medical Tourism Agencies, RusMedTravel, MedicaTour. “I am surprised that the medical tourism market is so large and tends to grow. Competition will definitely grow” he said.
The head of the department of state tourism projects and tourism security of the Federal Agency for Tourism (Rosturizm) Yevgeny Kudelya said that Russian medical institutions comply with the international level of medical services. Moreover, the cost of treatment in our country is 10-20 times lower than abroad. He said that there is a list of instructions from the Government of the Russian Federation for the development of the direction of medical tourism. “I am very grateful to the Government of the Komi Republic, which is now actively involved in the development of various types of tourism, including medical. And I must say that this is a good sign. Of course, thanks to the governor for paying attention to the development of this sector of the economy” said Yevgeny Kudelya.
